Meet the one behind the camera

My name is SeaJay Justice. I'm a Native American filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller from the Nez Perce/ Yakama Nation Tribe. Residing in Portland, OR.

Like most Native people, I learned early that every family gathering comes with three things: food, stories, and laughter that heals us.

Today, I use those stories to create films and media that highlight Native voices and experiences. I love combining traditional teachings with modern filmmaking—because our stories didn't stop in the 1800s, and neither did we.

I believe stories have power. I also believe every Native family has at least one auntie who can solve a mystery faster than the police.

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm probably searching for better lighting, another mocha frappe, or the SD card I swore I just had five seconds ago.
